Morocco Project - Areas of the Atlas affected by the September 2023 earthquake

Reconstruction project of housing structures with Pisè technique (raw earth)

Our expedition to Marocco starts on 11 April 2024, attached are all the specifications of the project which aims to be a format that can be replicated in all those parts of the world where there are natural disasters and people without a home due to wars or other difficulties.

Below is our executive plan for the project.
If you want to support us in this mission you can do so through our fundraising campaign on the Eppela platform at the following link
Rebuilding for Morocco - Helping the populations of the Atlas villages after the earthquake Intervene with concrete action in favor of Morocco After the terrible earthquake, the immense challenge arises in managing aid to affected populations. Unfortunately, there is an even greater challenge, that of helping weaker populations to rebuild their homes, especially in the villages of mountain. Winter can be very aggressive with temperatures well below of zero and heavy snowfall persisting for long months. General objective of the mission: Mission 1: Organize a construction technical assistance operation perennial habitat. It is an experimental mission that must have strong potential of reproducibility in other places in Africa and other parts of the world. Mission 2: it involves bringing the fruit of the collections carried out to the site Italy by Italian associations and NGOs (blankets, clothes, school supplies and games for children, non-perishable food and commodities, etc....). First technical inspection It is necessary to launch a major initiative to initially carry out a verification of the current situation regarding the reasons for the massive housing collapses. At the same time, it is necessary to propose and test a reconstruction model based on traditional techniques and materials. Our team will be on site from 11th to 18th April for an initial inspection dedicated to assessing the state of collapsed houses, perhaps the possibility exists to recover part of the rubble, reusing the material for new buildings. Detail of the activities during the first inspection: - Fill in a form with technical findings - Analyze the construction typologies of collapsed buildings - Assess and quantify the extent and nature of collapses - Analyze the morphological and geological situation of the terrain - Evaluate the developments relating to the evictions and interventions already carried out by the company date of the earthquake (8 September 2023) - Evaluate on site the possibility of using parts of collapsed walls for the reconstruction - Preparation of a first detailed report to determine a program precise interventions for the next stages

Subsequent inspections

- New missions will be carried out on site for the construction of a construction site

test/school (as soon as possible). It's about building the first houses with the method
technical/operational most appropriate to the situation also involving bricklayers and
local populations.
- Develop a reproducibility plan on other villages.
